Apt IT Services was set up as a company in 2005 based on the freelance work of the MD, Phil Morris, dating back to 2002.
Though a Civil Engineer originally, Phil switched to the IT sector in 1984 in engineering applications development and marketing. For ten years he was an IT director for one of the top three multi-disciplinary consultancies in the UK before becoming an IT Project Director for ICL and then Projects Director for the Concise Group.
Having been engaged on many large IT projects in both the public and private sectors over more than 20 years, Phil has an in-depth understanding of corporate IT.
The defining concept behind Apt is the provision of big-company IT skills, but not solutions, to small companies and sole-traders delivered as a very personal consultancy service. Many small businesses lack structure and strategy in their IT provision because they rely on suppliers for advice. This is inevitably partial and sales execs are not known for their knowledge of business processes. Appropriate use of IT only where it can be made effective and the provision of robust and well protected solutions are our goals.
